On 30 November 2022, Corning Police Department (CPD) announced the arrest of a male suspect after he attempted to vandalize the Corning Police Station and threw one improvised incendiary device (IID), described as a Molotov cocktail, at a police patrol vehicle and another IID at a parked car, as he led CPD officers on a foot pursuit on Solano Street. No further details about the IIDs have been released, and no injuries or damage was reported.

California: Pipe Bomb Discovered in Stolen Vehicle

On 14 November 2022, at approximately 2203 hours local time, Redding Police Department officers located and searched a disabled stolen vehicle on Pine Street and discovered a pipe bomb inside a tool bag. The Shasta County and Butte County bomb squad units responded to assist and rendered the device safe. No further device details were provided. The 58-year-old suspect was arrested and charged with possessing stolen property and being in possession of an explosive device.
