On June 14, 2025, multiple police officers were injured in Portland, Oregon Saturday night during a violent riot at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility. Per the news report, individuals launched fireworks, smoke grenades and threw rocks at federal law enforcement, as they broke glass and forcibly entered the ICE facility. Four officers were injured during the attack.
On June 12, 2025, the Memphis Police Department (MPD) executed a search warrant at a home on Spottswood Avenue and arrested and charged a man after homemade bombs and drugs were found inside his home. MPD officers contacted the bomb squad to confiscate the explosives. According to news reports, detectives utilized an RDX device, which detected ammonium nitrate inside the devices, and an ATF special agent was present for the test.
On June 11, 2025, at approximately 08:40 a.m., North Dakota Highway Patrol conducted a routine traffic stop on a vehicle in Ground Forks County. Based on probable cause, the trooper conducted a vehicle search and discovered a suspected explosive device. The Grand Forks Bomb Squad responded and upon additional inspection, including X-Ray diagnostics, rendered safe the device. Two suspects were arrested and are facing charges for Possessing an Explosive Device. No additional information on the device was made available.
On June 7, 2025, one person was killed in Liberty, OH following an explosion that investigators believe was caused by illegal fireworks. Two other people—an unnamed man and a four-year-old child—suffered burns and were in critical condition at the time of being transported according to the Liberty fire Chief. Liberty fire crews were called just before 9:30 p.m. Saturday to a home at the corner of East Montrose Street and Northlawn Drive, which was severely damaged by the explosion.
In Moorestown, NJ a two-day investigation took place June 7 through June 8, 2025, that resulted in the discovery of a suspected explosives lab. Moorestown Police were notified that a residence on Cove Road allegedly contained an improvised explosive device and after an investigation, confirmed the home contained unspecified bomb-making materials (BMM). The New Jersey State Police Bomb Squad and Hazardous Waste department responded to remove and render safe the materials as required.
On June 6, 2025, a Brevard County Sheriff's Department (BCSD) spokesperson stated a suspect has been arrested for allegedly attempting to bomb a state radio tower. The arrest resulted from a police inquiry of a suspect in a suspiciously parked vehicle along Deering Parkway Road between Interstate 95 and U.S. Route 1. Media sources reported the suspect made inconsistent statements that prompted officers to search the vehicle where they found an explosive device described as a pipe bomb.
On June 5, 2025, a 22-year-old suspect was arrested in Smithville, TN after police discovered an incendiary explosive device in his vehicle. Dekalb County Sheriff's Department (DCSD) deputies responded to a private residence on Chapel Road for reports of an unwanted guest.
On June 5, 2025, law enforcement agents arrested a man who allegedly manufactured at least seven improvised explosive devices (IEDs) using precursor chemicals he bought online. The suspect allegedly stored at least five IEDs and shotgun shells on adjoining rooftops of residential apartment buildings in the SoHo neighborhood of Manhattan, threw at least one IED onto the subway tracks of the Williamsburg Bridge, and was arrested with an IED on him. On June 3, 2025, an explosive device was found at a business in the industrial park per the Olive Branch Police Department (OBPD). OBPD received a call about a possible explosive device at the loading dock of the business at around 9:15 a.m. Authorities evacuated the area and told the public that the intersection of DeSoto Road and Metro Drive was closed due to police activity. OBPD said the Shelby County Sheriff's Office and the FBI both joined in the investigation, and authorities eventually sent in a robot to examine the suspect object.
On June 2, 2025, two men were arrested in Washington state with an arsenal that included dozens of guns, explosives and body armor, along with Nazi paraphernalia per investigators. The suspects were reportedly former military members who allegedly attacked a soldier with a hammer while stealing gear from Joint Base Lewis-McChord last weekend. The FBI executed a search warrant at a home shared by the defendants on Monday and arrested them. Authorities said agents seized about 35 firearms at the home, including short-barreled rifles and an MG42 machine gun.
