No injuries were reported, but the home sustained minor damages. The incident occurred after the suspect drove six hours to burn down his ex-girlfriend’s house after she ended their online relationship.

Indiana: Grenade Discovered in Man’s Possession at Gas Station, 1 Arrested

On 1 May 2024, at approximately 1800 hours local time, Muncie Police Department (MPD) officers pulled over a rental pickup truck that had been reported stolen. Officers found a needle on the 38-year-old male suspect and took him into custody. Officers searched the vehicle and discovered a grenade inside a backpack. The Delaware County Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit was called to the scene, and both the nearby gas station and a liquor store were evacuated as a precaution. Bomb technicians removed the device and cleared the scene.

Florida: IID Thrown at Gas Station

On 8 May 2024, at approximately 0430 hours local time, an unknown suspect was seen on surveillance footage throwing an improvised incendiary device (IID), described as a suspected Molotov cocktail, into bushes at a Fort Myers gas station on Colonial Boulevard and Winkler Avenue, setting them ablaze. Fort Myers Police Department officers and Fire Department crews responded. No damages were reported, and the investigation is ongoing.

On 29 April 2024, at approximately 1930 hours local time, two unidentified individuals on a motorcycle approached the Monitoring Center of the General Directorate of Traffic and Road Police in Celaya, Guanajuato State, and threw an improvised incendiary device (IID), described as a Molotov cocktail, into the facility’s parking lot and then fled the scene The IID struck the ground near a patrol vehicle and functioned, causing the vehicle to catch on fire. Responding police officers quickly extinguished the flames before the fire could spread further.

Texas: Pyrotechnics Functioned at Multiple Residences

On 27 April 2024, at approximately 0000 hours local time, security footage captured a suspect functioning a pyrotechnic on the front porch of a residence on Betty Drive in New Chapel. The pyrotechnic was described as an M-5000 military pyrotechnic that functioned but did not cause any damage or injuries. According to Smith County Constables, a similar incident involving pyrotechnics occurred at four other addresses on the same night. No further information was released.

Pennsylvania: Explosive Device Discovered in Bag

On 25 April 2024, at approximately 2200 hours local time, Slate Belt Regional Police Department officers discovered an explosive device, drugs, and drug paraphernalia in a bag dropped in Nazareth by a wanted suspect fleeing the area. The Bethlehem Bomb Squad responded to the scene to handle the explosive device. The Bangor Police Department, Bushkill Township Police Department, Washington Township Police Department, and Northampton County Sheriff's Office also assisted with the investigation. The 41-year-old male suspect is still at large.

Oregon: Pyrotechnic Device Discovered Following Planned March

On 1 May 2024, at approximately 1700 hours local time, Portland Police Bureau Central Precinct (PPBCP) officers were notified of a gathering in the area of Southwest Park Avenue and Southwest Clay Street that likely resulted from a planned march scheduled for the day. At approximately 1830 hours, officers received a report of an explosion and reports that individuals were committing property damage. Officers from across the city responded to assist PPBCP patrol the area.
