North Carolina: 2 Explosive Devices Found at Residence Near Schools, 1 Arrested

On 7 April 2024, at approximately 2120 hours local time, Alexander County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a home on Fowler Hill Road for reports of stolen property and discovered an explosive device. Due to their proximity to the residence, several nearby schools announced closures. The Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad conducted a sweep of the residence the following morning, discovered an additional live explosive device at the home, and rendered both devices safe.
