Kansas: Multiple Homes Evacuated after BMM Found, 1 Arrested

On 19 March 2024, at approximately 1200 hours local time, Kansas City, Kansas Police Department (KCKPD) officers responded to a home in the 7400 block of Riverview Avenue for a report of an armed disturbance. At the scene, officers arrested a woman and searched the residence. Inside the home, officers discovered a large quantity of bomb-making material (BMM), described as those used in the construction of pyrotechnic devices. Authorities evacuated nearby homes and shut down several blocks as the KCKPD Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit responded to the scene.
