On June 16, 2025, two construction workers were injured in an explosion that occurred at Lone Oak First Baptist Church in Paducah, KY, according to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO). After an investigation, it appears that the explosion was not intentional and that it had been caused by fireworks being used in a manner in which they are not designed according to the MCSO. Investigators believe that a sparkler bomb was made by one worker and unwittingly cut by another coworker, causing the explosion.

On June 19, 2025, in Portland, OR, a 38-year-old man was arrested after police briefly closed Interstate 5 (I-5) on June 14, 2025, due to a “suspicious device,” according to the Portland Police Bureau (PPB). On I-5 at the Northeast Failing Street pedestrian bridge, the suspect reportedly threw construction cones, boards with nails sticking out, and other objects into traffic, and slashed the tires of vehicles when the drivers stopped. He also had a large stop sign on a portable stand. The suspect reportedly threatened drivers with a screwdriver and claimed he had a bomb.

On June 12, 2025, the Memphis Police Department (MPD) executed a search warrant at a home on Spottswood Avenue and arrested and charged a man after homemade bombs and drugs were found inside his home. MPD officers contacted the bomb squad to confiscate the explosives.  According to news reports, detectives utilized an RDX device, which detected ammonium nitrate inside the devices, and an ATF special agent was present for the test.

On June 7, 2025, one person was killed in Liberty, OH following an explosion that investigators believe was caused by illegal fireworks. Two other people—an unnamed man and a four-year-old child—suffered burns and were in critical condition at the time of being transported according to the Liberty fire Chief. Liberty fire crews were called just before 9:30 p.m. Saturday to a home at the corner of East Montrose Street and Northlawn Drive, which was severely damaged by the explosion.

On June 6, 2025, a Brevard County Sheriff's Department (BCSD) spokesperson stated a suspect has been arrested for allegedly attempting to bomb a state radio tower. The arrest resulted from a police inquiry of a suspect in a suspiciously parked vehicle along Deering Parkway Road between Interstate 95 and U.S. Route 1. Media sources reported the suspect made inconsistent statements that prompted officers to search the vehicle where they found an explosive device described as a pipe bomb.
