Oregon: IID Thrown at Home, 1 Arrested

On 7 November 2024, at approximately 0000 hours local time, Portland Fire and Rescue responded following reports of a fire at a residence on the 2200 block of Southeast Salmon Street in Portland. Authorities found that the suspect allegedly threw an improvised incendiary device (IID), described as a “Molotov cocktail–like device,” on the front porch of the home, starting the fire. Portland Fire Bureau and Arson Investigators determined that the fire was intentionally set with an accelerant. No injuries were reported, but the home sustained moderate damage.
