On 15 June 2024, at approximately 0345 hours local time, four unknown suspects threw an improvised incendiary device (IID), described as a “firebomb,” into a vehicle parked on the street outside the owner’s home in Dannevirke, Manawatū-Whanganui, North Island. The vehicle was destroyed in the ensuing fire, but no injuries were reported. Local authorities responded and quickly extinguished the blaze. No further details were provided.
