On 25 April 2023, Chiefland Police Department officers responded to a residence on Northeast 2nd Street due to reports of a possible explosive device. The Levy County Sheriff’s Office and Alachua County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad responded to assist, discovered several objects, and rendered them safe before determining they were not dangerous. Germany: Explosives Used in ATM Attack

Surveillance footage captured a male suspect placing the device in a cinder block and fleeing the scene in a vehicle. LAPD’s Bomb Squad responded to investigate.
