Netherlands: Explosive Device Functioned Outside Residence

On 8 February 2023, at approximately 0500 hours local time, local police responded to a residence on Riederlaan in Rotterdam-Feijenoord after an explosive device functioned outside the home, causing extensive damage to the facade and the surrounding buildings. No injuries were reported. According to media reporting, a long white rope, believed to be a fuse for the explosive, was discovered at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.

Germany: Explosives Used in ATM Attack

Canada: IID Thrown at Educational Center

On 6 February 2023, at approximately 0000 hours local time, Montreal police (SPVM) and firefighters responded after an improvised incendiary device (IID), described as a Molotov cocktail, was thrown at an educational center on Saint-Charles Boulevard, breaking a front window, and starting a fire. No further device details have been released. Firefighters extinguished the blaze and found remnants of an IID inside the center. No injuries were reported, and the building sustained minor damage. The incident remains under investigation.
