On 27 February 2023, at approximately 1200 hours, Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) officers responded to a fast-food restaurant in Kelowna, British Columbia, after a pedestrian walking on the sidewalk in front of the building discovered a pipe bomb, described as being eight inches long and two inches wide. The RCMP Explosive Disposal Unit responded to assist and determined the device was viable, before rendering it safe onsite. No injuries were reported, and no further device details were provided. On 23 February 2023, at approximately 0648 hours local time, three unknown suspects used explosives to attack two bank ATMs in Setia Alam and fled the scene with an estimated 349,000 Malaysian ringgit [~$78,683].
