    TRIPwire, 1 June 2023 On 31 May 2023, at approximately 1500 hours local time, Girardville Fire Department (GFD), Girardville Police Department, and Borough Police Department officers responded to a residence on West Main Street after an explosive device, described as a homemade pipe bomb with signs of electrical detonation, was discovered by a building maintenance worker in the ceiling of a vacant apartment. FBI and State Police Bomb Squad technicians responded to the scene and rendered the device safe inside the apartment. According to the GFD, fire crews discovered a second device in the apartment’s ceiling and rendered it safe as well. No further device details have been released. The incident remains under investigation.

    TRIPwire, 1 June 2023 On 27 May 2023, unidentified suspects threw improvised incendiary devices (IIDs), described as Molotov cocktails, at an apartment complex on Jenkins Road in Pasadena. According to authorities, there were at least three reports of four IIDs being thrown at the complex over the same weekend. Video surveillance shows a person running through the parking lot and throwing a device onto the pavement before it functioned. No further details on the IEDs, binary explosive material, or BMM were released. Conway Fire Department Bomb Squad technicians responded to the scene and rendered the IEDs safe. A 40-year-old male suspect was arrested and charged with criminal possession of explosive materials or a destructive device and possession of firearms by certain persons, among other charges.
