On 31 March 2023, at approximately 0130 hours local time, local police responded after unidentified suspects used explosives to attack an ATM inside a gas station building in Makgofe and two other ATMs outside the building. The suspects fled the scene with an unknown amount of money. No further details about the explosives have been released. The explosion destroyed the three ATMs and caused significant damage to the store and a vehicle parked near the ATMs, but no injuries were reported. The incident remains under investigation.

California: Pipe Bomb Discovered by Diver

According to media reporting, a local traffic police officer confronted the driver who got out of his car and detonated the explosives, before walking into a hotel on Lianfang East Road where he was arrested.
