California: BMM Discovered at Elementary School, 3 Detained

On 30 March 2024, at approximately 0046 hours local time, San Diego Police Department (SDPD) officers responded to an alarm at Torrey Pines Elementary School in La Jolla, where they heard and then saw three juveniles fleeing from the school’s gymnasium. SDPD officers located the three suspects and detained them. Law enforcement searched the school grounds and discovered bomb-making material (BMM) that could be used to make nine improvised incendiary devices (IIDs), described as Molotov cocktails, and three of the nine IIDs were full of gasoline.
